The Golem and the Jinni
Helene Wecker
Night - Marion Wiesel, Elie Wiesel This was my freshman summer reading book in college and Elie Wiesel came and spoke at Meredith. It was one of the most moving experiences of my life. It was September and the program was outside in our amphitheater. A hurricane was blowing up on the coast of North Carolina and you could see the clouds, wind and everything about environmental atmosphere changing along with the emotional atmosphere. Wisel spoke of pain, suffering, hope, and forgiveness in a quiet, soft spoken tone that you feel while reading his prose. It is a book and experience I will never forget.
